The theory and practice of agricultural extension have evolved considerably in the recent past based on new research in the diffusion of innovations, innovation systems, digital innovations and communication studies. New insights are important tools to reinvent extension to meet the evolving needs of Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) stakeholders. There has been an increasing demand for new research and updated content for teaching-training in extension so that the discipline remains relevant to the new context. The National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) initiated an alliance with 30 state agricultural universities in early 2018 to discuss and define these new trends. The MANAGE-University Alliance for Advancing Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services along with other partners conducting a series of capacity-building programs on advanced extension research methodologies, research priorities, new competencies, new career opportunities and evening for learning (e4l) webinars in Agricultural Extension.
