In 2013, when we first proposed the idea of publishing blogs related to Extension and Advisory Services (EAS), the response from our community was cautious. Some wondered whether people would be willing to write blogs. Others questioned the value of such efforts—Would it be professionally recognised? Could opinions based on research be shared openly? And would there be any tangible rewards?
Despite the uncertainty, we decided to give it a try.
The first AESA blog was published in July 2013, written by Mahesh Chander: Beyond Treatment and Breed Improvement. In the early years, it took considerable effort to encourage contributions. We spent a lot of time mentoring writers, offering suggestions, and helping them revise drafts to ensure they met the standards of a high-quality blog.
Gradually, momentum picked up. We began receiving more submissions, which allowed us to curate content under specific themes. This led to the publication of two blog compilations:
- Conversations on Extension: Taking Stock and Shaping the Future
- Beyond Conversations on Extension: Enhancing Capacities to Address Emerging
Challenges
Now, in October 2025, we’re proud to announce the publication of our 250th blog. Looking back, it’s clear that our persistence has paid off. AESA has become a dynamic platform for our community to share innovative ideas, challenge outdated paradigms, propose improvements, and engage in policy-relevant discussions that help shape the future of our profession.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the professionals who have generously shared their knowledge, insights, and experiences through AESA blogs. We are also deeply grateful to the AESA Steering Committee for their continued guidance and support.
We look forward to many more thought-provoking contributions that will continue to enrich this vibrant space.
Congratulations @aesa! A remarkable and incredible achievement indeed. And you have never compromised on the quality of the blogs. Hope you continue in the same vein and provide this valuable platform for knowledge sharing and learning. Well done!
