On February 27, 2025, Agricultural Extension in South Asia (AESA) successfully hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion on Beyond Traditional Roles: Career Options for Extension Graduates. With around 280 registrations and 75 active participants, the session was filled with meaningful insights and engaging conversations that broadened perspectives on career opportunities in the non-public sector. A heartfelt thanks to our incredible panelists for their honest and selfless sharing of experiences:
Suchiradipta Bhattacharjee, PhD – Expert in Policy Analysis, Climate Change Adaptation, and Digital Agriculture, with contributions to India’s Science Technology and Innovation Policy 2020 and experience at MANAGE, IISc, and ICRISAT.
Krithika Sundaram – Specialist in rural development, research, communication, and stakeholder engagement. With a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension and a background in national journalism, she merges storytelling and development to create a lasting impact.
Archana Bhatt – A leader in qualitative social research, Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK), and food security. Her work in conserving traditional rice varieties in Wayanad highlights her dedication to sustainable agriculture and community resilience.
Special thanks to Rasheed Sulaiman V (AESA Focal Point) for opening the event, sharing key insights from participant interests, and delivering closing remarks. The discussion was skillfully moderated by D. Alagu Niranjan, ensuring a smooth and interactive experience.
